In 1999 HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud formally launched Painting & Patronage as a private royal initiative. Today it is considered to be one of the most prominent cultural and educational exchange initiatives between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the international community.
In 2007 the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques the late King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud of Saudi Arabia, granted his High Patronage over Painting & Patronage.
The President of Painting & Patronage is HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud who is supported by a Vice President, Chairman, Board of Directors and several Special Advisers.
